Management and prevent Diabetes through Yoga

MADHUMEHA MUKTA BHARAT - Stop Diabetes Movement...


ONE of the important mission initiatives of VYASA Bengaluru, with technical support by S-VYVASA Yoga University. An ambitious movement to prevent India from becoming " The Diabetes capital of the world". The camps are organised throughout India with the help of RSS volunteers. Its basically a ONE YEAR PROGRAM with week long camps - every three months and week end follow up sessions  between the camps. Where blood glucose levels are checked at different stages and thus a year long analysis will be made available and used for different research purposes. This was kick started in line with world Yoga Day, June 21. 

Diabetes is not disease. It is only a disorder due to changed life style, an imbalance in handling the energy system of the body, that is glucose load. 

Carbohydrates are converted into simple sugar called glucose in the intestine during the process of digestion. Glucose is then absorbed into the blood stream, taken to liver and transported through the blood to the cells of the body which change it into energy for immediate use. The glucose is broken down into energy & carbon dioxide inside the cell; energy is used for its activities; carbon dioxide is thrown out as waste product through the lungs. 

Whats the Abnormality in Diabetes?

It is not the insufficient production of insulin, but it is the inefficiency of the insulin because of insulin resistance and / or autoimmunity. The job of insulin is to open the glucose gates in each cell all over the body with the help of insulin receptor. It is the inefficiency of the receptors of glucose gate in the cell wall the glucose cannot enter the cell as the receptor is insensitive to the insulin that reaches the cell surface along with glucose and hence the glucose level remains high in the blood.

All these things happen is due to four major life style changes Diet, lack regular physical activity, bad habits and stress management that is emotional tension all traceable to the mind and therefore its very important to handle the mind, develop mastery over the mind and understand all about the mind. So mind is the root cause of the disease. 

So emotions are vital component of our life, two types positive and negative... and its a huge subject - to keep it short learn to lead a life without stress or 

Stress is a response and not the actual situation. What we need to learn is ' I can't change the situation but i can change my response pattern'. Basically is the effect of what happened in my mind due to the stress responses in the form of uncontrolled emotions, solution is to handle the emotions by working with our mind and it is a mind-body disease and adopt a mechanism whereby we can mastery our mind and for which YOGA will help us as our Sages have shown us the way through yoga.
